Obituary for Laura Belle "Dude" Theado (Rose)
Laura Belle (Rose) Theado 81, wife and mother extraordinaire, formerly of Waynesboro, VA passed away in Fredericksburg, VA on Sunday, September 24, 2017.
Laura “Dude” was born on January 3, 1936 to Gerni C. and Maude (Iseminger) Rose in Greene County, PA. She married Donald A. Theado on August 25, 1956 in Columbus, OH and they moved to Waynesboro in 1963. She worked, volunteered and raised five children there before moving to Bonita Springs, FL three years ago. Laura’s Beauty Shop, located in the family home, welcomed many clients and friends for over 20 years. Laura encouraged all her children to pursue their interests and was always available to assist in those pursuits. She was a PTA volunteer, Cub Scout den mother, Girl Scout leader, Explorer Scout leader, and representative on the Waynesboro Parks and Recreation Department committee. Laura also loved making unique crafts. She crocheted angels and table cloths among other items. Laura never turned down an invitation to play Bridge. She demonstrated her patience by teaching all her kids to play Euchre.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Don; three sons, Thomas “Tom” (Janna), Matthew “Matt” (Kaori), John “Jay” (Kathy); two daughters, Debra Tate (Dwayne), Rose Harris (Jeff); two sisters, Shirley Hite (Ron Medlin), Mary Ellen Pratt (Jed); 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Private inurnment services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fredericksburg, VA and a memorial service will be held in Bonita Springs, FL at a later date.
