The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Dwight Mottet can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Cathy and I are deeply saddened to learn of Dwight's death. We both went to the same grade and high school and then parted ways. We re-connected
and messaged through emails and telephone, will discussing politics, religion , his volunteer efforts and of course old friends.
Most conversations were generally laced with humor.
We will always remember he and Janet fondly.

Condolence: Our dear friend Dwight will be missed beyond words.
He and Jan were our friends for over fifty years and had the most wonderful times together. It is with great sadness that we can't hear his voice again , but also with much comfort to know that Dwight and Jan are together again.

Condolence: Dwight and I didn't always see eye to eye on politics, but we shared a love for our country, for preserving local historical sites, for interesting emails, and for quality Scripture-reading in church. I'm so sorry that time ran out before the special lunch to which he'd invited selected friends could be held. He was a good man.

Condolence: To Dwight's family and many friends,

I was saddened to hear of the passing of this wonderful man and am sorry for your family's loss.

I came to know Dwight while volunteering as an interpreter at Ellwood Manor. He was welcoming to newcomers and very supportive of our work. Dwight also introduced me to the Civil War Study Group at Lake of the Woods and invited me into his home as a member of the Board of Directors.

His support for the preservation of history and our community was remarkable and will not be forgotten by any of us living in the area. He helped amicably resolve the presence of Walmart in our community, because he was a thoughtful gentleman of deep integrity. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to know Dwight, a man of stature and comity.

Blessings on you and on his memory.

Condolence: Dwight and Janet were my Godparents and wonderful people. As a young child they used to send me a brand new $ 2 Bill every year on my birthday.
I was thrilled as it was always in pristine condition. Dwight was my late Father's best friend in the Air Force.
I was fortunate enough to meet him here in Texas not long ago for a short layover at the DFW Airport. It had been many years and I am so glad
I had that opportunity.
My Mother Rita, my Sister Theresa, and I extend our very deepest condolences to family and friends.
I will be making a donation to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank as suggested in his Honor.
God bless you Dwight and thank you for everything !

Condolence: We are very sad to hear of the passing of Mr. Mottet. He came into our lives about 15 years ago by me beginning to pet sit his beloved Johnny and Susie when he went out of town, then came his darling Penny girl for a short period of time. Then he called on my husband for countless projects in and around his home. I will miss the long conversations, and great advice he always had to offer. Rest in peace Mr. Mottet. I will rest better knowing I have a perfect Angel that you are watching over my family and I. All our love till we see you again. The Houff Family.
